Demonstration Channel

The Demonstration Channel is not intended for communicating with your community. Its purpose is to allow you to experiment and practice with the Conversation Module.

Agents can initiate a conversation: YES
Rich text formatting supported: YES

What you will need to add a Demonstration Channel

To add a Demonstration channel you will need the following:

  • an Confides portal with at least the Admin, Configuration Admin or Super Admin role on the portal
  • about 1 minutes of your time

Setting up a Demonstration Channel in Confides

Step 1: Log in (if you haven’t already) into your Confides portal

You can use these links to either log in in or sign up.

Step 2: Open the Channel Settings

From the Settings module, navigate to the Channels section.

Step 3: Add a channel

Click the Add a Channel button and select the Demonstration Channel channel type.

Step 4: Input the Alias and choose a Privacy Level

Enter the alias for this channel (an alias is a great way to guide your agents on the topic of the channel). Also, choose a privacy level for the channel (remember, the privacy level cannot be changed afterward).

Step 5: Specify how many fake conversations the channel should generate

To simulate people contacting your organization the channel can automatically create fake conversations (up to 5).

You can always create more conversations by Starting a Conversation or by going back to the Channel Settings and saving the Demonstration Channel you created.

Step 7: Complete the set up

Click the Add a channel button. Confides will validate and complete the configuration of the channel. If the information is incomplete or invalid, error messages will guide you through the process.

Once you see the message “The channel was added.”, you can go to the Conversations module to experiment with fake conversations, if you created any. Or, you can start a conversation using that channel with any phone number.

Limitations

This channel does not allow you to communicate with your community. All incoming messages are randomly generated.

The random messages are not meant to be offensive or misleading. If you have a problem with a message, please contact us so we can address the situation.
